Maybe if you approach the school and talk to them they’ll help ? If you explain the situation could pay them off . Schools I’ve been a part of don’t want to see kids miss out on things .

I could see how paying bills would take priority over a field trip when it comes to remembering. I don't think you are a shit parent only based on this one mistake.

I'd rather have food, clothes and shelter instead of a field trip. But I am antisocial.

Yeah its a shitty situation for all involved. If you can't get enough for him to go, perhaps you could try and make up by spending a day with him doing fun stuff? Movies or getting lunch or something.

I think you’re pulling that suspicion out of your arse, and that you would benefit from being less cynical. But for what it’s worth, nobody should ever send money or offer shelter to random Reddit users.
