On his wedding day he was unable to dance with his new wife Willi Burke, a dancer. Watching her dance with the other male guests inspired him to write the song "Save the Last Dance For Me". by big_macaroons

Alone, and with Mort Shuman, Pomus wrote some of the great rock songs, notably, “This Magic Moment,” “Youngblood,” “Little Sister,” “Hushabye,” “Suspicion,” “Can’t Get Used To Losing You,” “Surrender,” and “Viva Las Vegas,” among many others.
