Wildcats also get most of their water from the meat they eat. Providing water dishes for your house cats is really only necessary because we feed them such strong diets of dry food. Delta why you should feed your cats wet food, preventing a lot of kidney diseases from a life of being under hydrated

Cats kidneys are so efficient they can hydrate by drinking sea water.

Also the reason their urine is highly toxic.

I guess this explains why my families old outdoor cat just never drank water lol

But the second I have ice water in a cup I'm drinking in his little face goes. Only when the cup is full though, can't be risking whisker fatigue on water consumption.
