Once met a lad who forgot to vote for himself for the council. We'd been out knocking doors during the day in his area, got to his and knocked as a laugh. He saw us, smiled, started to say hi, then shouted "oh shit" and took off at a full sprint down the garden path.

He made it in time, and he won with a comfortable majority anyway. Hilarious moment for me though to see him sprinting away.

It's different but reminds me of a candidate who lost so badly, they were crying because they got fewer votes than they had family members who were voters.
