The invasion of Poland (1 September – 6 October 1939) was a joint attack on the Republic of Poland by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union which marked the beginning of World War II.[13] The German invasion began on 1 September 1939, one week after the signing of the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact between Germany and the Soviet Union, and one day after the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union had approved the pact.[14] The Soviets invaded Poland on 17 September. The campaign ended on 6 October with Germany and the Soviet Union dividing and annexing the whole of Poland under the terms of the German–Soviet Frontier Treaty.

The Katyn massacre[a] was a series of mass executions of nearly 22,000 Polish military officers and intelligentsia prisoners of war carried out by the Soviet Union, specifically the NKVD ("People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs", the Soviet secret police)

The government of Nazi Germany announced the discovery of mass graves in the Katyn Forest in April 1943.[4] Stalin severed diplomatic relations with the London-based Polish government-in-exile when it asked for an investigation by the International Committee of the Red Cross.[5] After the Vistula–Oder offensive where the mass graves fell into Soviet control, the Soviet Union claimed the Nazis had killed the victims, and it continued to deny responsibility for the massacres until 1990, when it officially acknowledged and condemned the killings by the NKVD, as well as the subsequent cover-up by the Soviet government.

My grandpa was in the Polish army during invasion but was flown over to New York lol fuck you.

Could be, but statistically unlikely: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupation_of_Poland_(1939%E2%80%931945)

>In August 2009, the Polish Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) researchers estimated Poland's dead (including Polish Jews) at between 5.47 and 5.67 million (due to German actions) and 150,000 (due to Soviet), or around 5.62 and 5.82 million total.

They intiannly invaded side by side with the Nazis in agreement to split it in half with them taking a side each.. Instead they ended up taking Poland as their own while trying to take half of Germany Post WWII with their Berlin Wall bs. Wiki says 150'000 but there were 22'000 in secret burial grounds that they blamed on the Nazis alone so I'd assume a lot more. They threw 1.5 million into gulags later reaching 15-18 million, where they'd chop your nose and fingers off or strip you then wrap you in barbed wire pouring boiling water over you if you disagreed with their enforced communist deathbed regime.. They also were responsible for infecting 10% of the Polish population from the raping of 100'000 women and children.. Sorry but fuck those guys.. I hate that "the West" are only taught about how evil the Nazis were, while a lot of pro Marxists and leftists have been made to believe that Stalin was "a good guy".. Source? College ideologues... 🤦‍♂️ And I am 1/4 Polish.. My grandpa having literally killed nazis and the old folk know the script with the Soviets at least.. Fuck knows why people are being triggered already.
