"effects" should be "affects". Sorry, grammar Nazi here.

That's a relief. I was worried my kitties might turn into lions due to catnip.

If they remained the same size it might be okay though.

To be fair, if you leave catnip out in your yard it may effect big cats, if you’re in the right parts of the world.

My cat isn't bothered by catnip, he just rubs it off as another plant.

But bleach on the other hand is his go to for getting high. Everytime I mop the floors he'll be on the edge of the mopped area rolling like he's in heaven.

Our cats either don't care about catnip or it makes them sleepy. Bleach though, yeah, we have one that goes nuts for that smell.

He may be re-marking the floors now that you’ve removed his scent

2 of 3 like it in my house, the one acts like I'm forcing him to smell nail polish remover and gets very offended

My last one was the same, had no interest in catnip at all

My cat likes catnip, but goes crazy for valerian root. It’s a little frightening sometimes.

I’ve got an idea. Let’s see if cat cocaine works on Lions, tigers, cougars and other large feline killing machines.

rdyoung t1_j1e08ha wrote

Catnip is more like weed than cocaine. They get lazy and happy on catnip, cocaine does the opposite.

Lions are also affected by aftershaves and colognes

Drives them into giddy playful fits

Cheetah go nuts for the smell of chocolate and vanilla and will rub their cheeks all over the mouth of someone breathing out who has eaten either

Note to self: next time we are on safari or trekking through the jungle, NO chocolate!

Cheetah are not found in jungles 😏

And if you're trekking through the bush, cheetah are quite harmless

Sooo, should I, or should not carry catnip when walking thru the jungle??

My zoo gives huge paper bags of cat nip to the mountain lions, they love it. I’m sure the lions and tigers get it too but haven’t seen them with it yet.

Studies like this are plagued with poor data because of difficulties demonstrating to a cat that you need to inhale deeply for the chemicals to reach the lungs
