Very few people have actually wrapped their heads around the scope of musical Badassery McDonald possessed. Touring keyboardist/vocalist with Steely Dan, lead songwriter/singer/keyboardist of the Doobie Bros, to recording with Thundercat in recent years, etc etc etc.

Like him or not, he’s had a magnificent career of making tireless hit music.

I'll Wait is such a fucking phenomenal song. I graduated HS in 1984 and Van Halen was the soundtrack of my life.

Kenny Loggins helped him write "What a Fool Believes" so they each released a version of it.

Damn, that song became my summer anthem this year. Blasting this in my manual car with a hole in the exhaust, my buddy just couldn't get enough

Van Halen wisely turned down "Yamo Be There."
