It's an "old" drug we use to aerosolize for patients with thick mucus so they could cough it up easier. I'm an old, retired Respiratory Therapist.

I started taking NAC a while back as a liver protection thing for boozing and I found that it makes me feel great so I take it daily now. Something to do with GABA and Glutamate levels, but not uncommon for people to feel great when they take it
