Probably the same reason the company is called 'Toyota' even though the founder's last name was Toyoda.

I love the idea of a Japanese person complaining about other people mispronouncing their language. Like, buddy, actual English textbooks in Japan use katakana to teach pronunciation. At least people in other countries try to get the right pronunciation.
