Hard to tell - did they have a yellowish tint? Looks like some kind of finch. Gold finch? They lose their gold in the Winter.

I didn’t see any yellow or gold, but the sun was very bright. They were large for finches. After online reading my wife thinks it may be a flock of Pine Grossbeak. I hope they stick around, they were lovely.

Oh cool, A few weeks ago we had a flock of evening grosbeaks. They were striking, even in their dull Winter state. Hadn’t seen them before or since.
