Toss it. Critter might survive because of those calories. And, as my 3-year old told me as he peed out in the woods, “pee pee doesn’t make the world dirty.” Neither do apple cores.

Critters are likely to cross the road or be more exposed to traffic when people throw food scraps out their window. I like them too. So excited to feel guilt for the hundred banana peels and apple cores I have pitched out of windows throughout my life.
