Hi there,

I am looking for someone to measure up an office building in the Mad River Valley and put it in AutoCad.

Probably a day of measuring and a day of CAD at the most.

"Probably a day of CAD at most..."

Famous last words. People who don't do CAD tend to greatly underestimate how much time a CAD project will take.

That being said, is AutoCAD the best option? What are your goals? If you want to layout renovations or landscaping, programs like Chief Architect might be a better fit. Base model program is like $100 and is super easy to use.

I'm sitting in front of a CAD tube right now. It's what I do for a living ;)

Anyway, more details that explain how it is "maybe one day of CAD work" would definitely be beneficial.

Probably need more detail for anyone to take the job. Are you looking for exterior only? Interior/exterior? Any amenities to go into the model (vanities, furniture, plumbing fixtures, etc)? Your estimate of a day in CAD makes me think you want more than just the exterior, but nothing close to a full interior.

How old is the building? I did a brief stint in contract engineering and we spun up all of our plans in AutoCAD before handing off to the builders. If the building is 30 years or under there's a decent chance the CAD already exists, you just need to find the original architect or engineering firm.

Building is 50 years old, floor plans have changed a few times in that time.

10k sqft, interior/exterior only. No amenities.

Father is an architect out of state, I want to get the plans for to him to do a future state layout.

Location is out in the Mad River Valley if you are interested. PM me.

Sorry to mislead; I got out of that business and haven't worked in AutoCAD in years - my point was more that for anyone to take the job they'd need more information, which you kindly provided above. Good luck!

I use an app called Canvas for this purpose. Huge money/time saver! Scan the space (requires lidar camera), upload the file, select desired output, pay a reasonable fee, and 24-72 hrs later you have a file.

If time isn’t a major issue, I’d see if there is a career center in your area with a drafting program

Hire an architect. I know for a fact that AES Northeast does this exact kind of work.

Do yourself a favor and download Hover. 100 bucks per building. You take pictures, it emails you a file with EVERYTHING
