Checking in from Caledonia and Essex counties where my once isolated hunting camp is now located smack dab in the middle of two major developments. (The 10 acre sub division for mcmansion type of development, not the kind we need)

Idk man google rural gentrification and you’ll see a million articles about it. Not saying you aren’t correct by definition, but it seems like a common mistake. Honestly never have been told that gentrification only applies to urban communities.

I would say that arguing a seldom used, neologistic definition of a word carries equal weight to the long established original definition fits the definition of semantics far better.
