It is wonderful that Trey is doing this.

Awesome. I know some people are complaining about this (locals who didn't want it built, others who are upset that it won't serve all the needs they want), but we need more treatment options at every level in this state.
Props to Trey, props to everyone involved in making this happen. This required some persistence on his part. He's a rich guy and it would have been easier to put his money into something that ruffled fewer feathers, was more visible, and less meaningful. Instead, he stuck it out through the permitting process and made it happen.
I hope this is the first of several.

They money he spent on this would have served more people had it been given to existing organizations with existing infrastructure to serve more clients.
Less recognition, more people helped.
With that said, I am glad he did something as every little bit helps.

First, you’re wrong. We need more providers more than we need more beds at existing providers. And second, he doesn’t need nor warrant your criticism. The man just accomplished something a lot of people have tried and failed: he opened a new residential treatment facility in Vermont. He deserves praise for that.
Quit shitting on good things that other people do.

First, I’m not wrong, I am deeply involved in this community on a personal and professional level.
Second, again, the money he spent would have served more clients if it was given to existing organizations rather then creating a new one. That money could have expanded the services serenity house offered much more than a new facility. Of course it does not play into the white savior story Trey pushes. Do you really think he has some new ideas or can do this better than organizations that have been doing it for years.
Third, go fuck yourself. You and Trey can both go back to your fucking yuppie New Jersey upbringing.

It is absolutely criminal how few treatment options there are for folks around here and I am very happy to see this facility become a reality.
