Darn Tough Seconds Sale?

Anyone know if Darn Tough will be having their seconds sale this year? I know they didn’t do it while the pandemic was ravaging, is this something they might do again now that numbers are down and vaxes are up?

I've heard through the central vermont grapevine that the plan is to never hold the sale again. While I will really, really, miss it... I pretty much understand.

The last couple of years the sale was becoming a real zoo. Tons of locals, sure, but also massive numbers of online resellers buying thousands of dollars of socks and then putting them for sale online without disclosing their "seconds" nature. And then the brand suffers when consumers get a product that doesn't meet their expectations.

My socks bought at the sale 5 years ago are starting to wear through. Gotta decide if I'll break down and pay the $25 a pair retail or cheat on them with one of the online brands that are 80% cheaper.

Yeah I don't understand why it became such a zoo. I know you could find good deals but seconds don't have the lifetime warranty. I would rather pay the full price, support the company, and get new ones when they wear out for free.

I buy a pair or two every year. They’re expensive but they hold up so well I don’t mind. I used to buy Smartwool socks but they don’t seem to last as well as Darn Tough.

Tj maxx carries them sometimes, I was at the Berlin location a few days ago and saw some. But I’d rather just buy new ones so that you get the warranty.
