It’s your roommate. Don’t kill it.

I KILLED A SPIDER

NOT A MURDEROUS BROWN RECLUSE

NOR EVEN A BLACK WIDOW

AND IF THE TRUTH WERE TOLD THIS

WAS ONLY A SMALL

SORT OF PAPERY SPIDER

WHO SHOULD HAVE RUN

WHEN I PICKED UP THE BOOK

BUT SHE DIDN’T

AND SHE SCARED ME

AND I SMASHED HER

I DON’T THINK I’M ALLOWED

TO KILL SOMETHING

BECAUSE I AM

FRIGHTENED

I'm usually chill with spiders in the house, specially the long legged mommas that live in corners. But if these are babies that will become the furry black ones that look up and watch you before darting off faster than the flash I tend to squish em and say 'sorry' .

Most of the spiders you see are helping to keep the insect population down. I agree it can be creepy to see a bunch of them though. Maybe do a deep clean on that room and maybe seal any gaps around baseboard etc so they are not congregating there?

Something from Studio Ghibli perhaps, just dont eat anything near them as you could possibly turn into a pig and have your daughter kidnapped by a witch.

Sounds like an egg of Eastern Parsons spiders just hatched. They will thin themselves out rather quickly, and then focus their attention on other insects in your house. They can bite, but aren’t a danger. And I’ve never been bitten despite handling them frequently. They are super quick. But without a photo, it’s only a guess.
