It's usually illegal to carry in a bar, regardless of whether you're drinking. Laws vary by jurisdiction though, and there's a certain subset of (otherwise law-abiding) CCW practitioners who choose to carry regardless of whatever the law says.

Not in VT. Which since this is the Vermont sub, I assume the poster was referring to. In NY it is illegal to carry in bars though. (Generally)
