I play in an original rock band based out of the northern part of the state. We have played the the usual venues in Burlington and they are great, but we are interested in maybe branching out if there are places around the state that are looking for good original music. We’re not metal, but we are fairly loud, so we are not a great fit in places that generally book singer songwriters and jazz combos. It should be a place where people come at, at least partially, to see the music. We have 3 albums and I honestly think we are at the top of our game right now. We’d love expand our reach a little.

If anybody has any suggestions within the state that would be awesome. I am also open to any suggestions within a day’s drive of VT if you think it would be worth the drive.

In the Summertime, Rutland has “Friday Night Live” — they close off a part of downtown to traffic, set up a stage, and have live music. This past summer, it was one Friday in July and two in August.

Bent Nails Bistro in Montpelier. The owner is in several bands and they always have music going. Also potentially Four Quarters in Winooski.

If you end up down South, I bet the Pizza Stone in Chester would be thrilled (even if they're not a dedicated venue, they still have a stage set up and are swell folks)

Have you tried ski area venues? Killington has Pickle Barrel and Wobbly. Not sure but there must be one or two in Stowe.

Off the Rails in Ludlow. We went there mostly to eat last Friday but decided to eat there because they had music. Stayed after the meal to watch the show in the bar. Liked it!

Me too. If you remember Vincent, guy with the braids - he bought it. He also bought an awesome seriously old time saloon in Worcester- now called Vincents.

If you come back through you should stop there. It's a trip to the 1930s when every block had some triple decker with a barroom on the bottom floor.
