We took a vacation there when the kids were under 14, it was great. Expensive, but one of the best vacation's my family has ever had.

Nothing in VT fits that. Basin harbor club is probably the closest to what you are asking for. It’s in vergennes. Vermont doesn’t have a ton of kid stuff. Everything we have is spread out (water park at Jay, 5-6 mini golfs spread around the northern part of the state) some stuff in Stowe. But it sounds like you are looking for a resort area and that doesn’t exist on Champlain.
Look at lake George in NY. It’s 15 miles from Champlain. Has all of what you are talking about. Plus has outlets for shopping, and other things.

This. Basin Harbor for Vermont resort; Lake George for a busier/more touristy experience. Or look at Colchester or the islands for lakeside lodging and drive a little for entertainment.

I don’t know of any town with the combination of shoreline on Champlain and mini golf.
Vermont is more about hiking and waterfalls, that kind of thing. Maybe Ocean City Maryland would have more of what you’re looking for?

You sound like you’re looking for the Adirondacks

Outside of Burlington I can’t think of any town that is really a vacation town that will have activities - don’t even really consider Burlington that. I’d be interested to read some responses.

Colchester is your jam. My family has a camp on Malletts Bay, that’s the place to look. There is mini golf in Essex about 15 minutes away, there’s a drive-in theater for a family movie night, bike path/causeway, plus the lake!( Broadacres used to have go karts and mini golf when I was a kid, but now they just have creemees and bingo.)
