Thinking about visiting Vermont early November next year for honeymoon, suggestions?

Hey All, my Fiancé wants to visit Vermont for our honeymoon next November because she likes the cozy fall vibes. But I’m looking for suggestions on places to stay and visit. Never really been to the east coast but I’m interested too.

We love nature and trees, and cute cafes. Is the weather this time of year good for outdoor activities? I’ve heard the mountain biking is also pretty good,

Looking online it seems like the snow isn’t crazy in November but I wanted to ask people who actually live there.

So, I like the weather here in November but it's maaaybe the ugliest it gets all year in big chunks of the State. You'll have missed foliage and you might be too early for the good snow.

I'd advise coming earlier or later honestly.

But! I still think it's nice, just, the least nice it gets.

Yeah I was worried about that. My Fiancé loves gloomy weather so it might be nice but she likes the leaves too

It's perfect weather for hanging by a fire with breaks in cute cafes. That's about it.

Come in early-mid-October. Colors & views are better. Plus, in Nov, ticks name a comeback. Mid-Nov is rifle season for deer—another reason to come earlier/stay out of the woods. Granted it’s more crowded in Oct…so book in advance.

Also…people generally have their snow tires on by November. You don’t want to get caught on an icy highway.

I’ll be real with you, November is either winter or it’s stick season. If you want cozy fall vibes, come mid Sept through mid October for foliage and other autumnal activities.

Growing up, we always had snow by Halloween. Now it’s a couple weeks later.

I think earlier November the weather is okay but mid to late November can be around 30-40 degrees and by then the trees may be bare.

There will be no leaves on the trees by then. It will probably be damp and chilly. We get very little sunshine in November, typically.

Where are you from? You might want to try southern New England for cozy Fall vibes at that time of year.

Sorry to be so negative but that could be a bummer of a honeymoon. Come sometime in early October! If you aren't coming for ski season, June to mid-October is when you want to be here.

I second this! going south can feel like moving back in time at that particular time of year. Bonus with southern New England is you can also go somewhere on the coast.

Our cozy Fall vibes are in October. We had a mild November this year but it was unusual. November is very gray and bleak. It also gets dark really early. Honestly about the worst month to come to Vermont.

Here to echo what's been said. Earlier or later I'd say!

November is maybe the least beautiful month.

Also, if it's not cold enough yet, ticks can be really bad (if you're planning on doing any outdoor activities that is).

Asheville, NC in November will be similar vibes to VT in October

Bonus- venture to Hot Springs nearby, do the whole spa thing for the honeymoon

I love November here! Wayyyyy less people, cold or warmer but great views because the leaves are off the trees. If you’re hiking on trails, you are totally safe from anyone hunting, just wear something orange for an added layer of safety. Lots more Airbnbs available.

My suggestion for a place to stay and visit is the Inn at Shelburne Farms it’s right on Lake Champlain the restaurant is great. Edit: I would suggest visiting having dinner at the restaurant maybe don’t stay there

Last year we had snow mid October. It took a few weeks to really stick but it's not uncommon.

Around here we call it Stick Season, and personally, I love it. It is my favorite time of the year to be outside. The trails are usually empty and the quietness that comes after leave drop is sublimely tranquil. Things are spread out so choose your location wisely. I live around absolutely amazing hiking and biking access, but the closest cafe... hmm, it's 45 mins away. We do have some great downtowns with cute shops and cafes, but in many places there is a large gas station and not much. The ticks are ravenous this time of the year, so dress accordingly. Hunting season is also a big deal but no reason to avoid the outdoors; just know your location/surroundings and wear blaze orange.

So just for reference, proper outdoor attire is like this plus blaze orange:

No leaves left really in November. Peak is around 0ct 15th try to get closer to then because it goes downhill after that lol

Most of the restaurants in our area close for the month of November every year. If you want fall vibes you may have to go south to NC by the Blue Ridge Parkway or TN.
