Check out the Vermont welcome wagon. I think they established themselves in the northeast kingdom for this very reason.

Welcome to the state, and best of luck getting settled in.

They're so many variables there, I'm not sure how much luck you'll have. Maybe ask for something more specific? I asked a couple months ago for a golf buddy, and found one.

You could try asking about something that would give an indication of interests, character, personality, etc.

If you're looking for someone to go antiquing or farmers markets, I'm not that type, if you're asking for someone to come hang out in your garage working on a truck or tractor, I'd be more interested. <---- just an example

Yeah come up to Jay Peak on powder day. You’ll make some friends.

There is no such thing as friends on powder days. I may be new (2 years) to the kingdom but I've lived in the north country my whole life.

Where in the NEK are you?

It can be challenging to meet people here. Our friends are mostly some neighbors we've found who are also transplants and within 10 years of our age, and folks I've found through our town's Instagram hashtag. I literally DMed someone on Insta after following them for a few weeks to see if she'd like to hike with me and now she and her boyfriend are someone of our closest friends.

Reddit is so anonymous it might be more challenging to get folks to take you up on this offer, Front Porch Forum may be slightly easier.
