Anyone know if the Williston bike path along 2A actually goes all the way into the Williston shopping plaza (the one with Healthy Living and the hotel)? It used to dead end near that church.

It’s a dead end still

The fact that it just stops there is silly, but this little stretch of bike path really takes the cake. Gmaps won't even use it, but there is a path from point to point that you can see on satellite.

There’s even a bridge!

The town held a discussion with CCRPC last year to discuss connecting the 'bridge to nowhere' segment of the bike path which ends at Beaudry Ln to the sidewalk which ends at Stove and Flag works. They have a design but as Rt 2A is a state road, the number of property owners, and the significant buried and arial utilities in that stretch, they have a lot of red tape to cut through and one shouldn't expect it before 2025 - 2027. One could imagine that the development of the property at the end of Beaudry Ln will complete before then, providing a better connector into the Taft Corners area, sooner.
Edit:spelling

In order to ride to Tafts corner you’d have to ride along 2a. The shoulder in front of VSECU is pretty minimal for such a high traffic location and I’m not sure the sidewalk is legal for bicycles. Is it? Kinda sucks since Essex Jct and Tafts corner are two high density residential and commercial areas with no safe path for access on a bicycle.

So you can actually ride down to Beaudry lane but then you’d have to go back out on 2a and brave the traffic to get to Taft corner. Brilliant.

It still stops at Mountainview Rd. It will probably get connected with the proposed development of the church land.
