I don't think there's any law against it.

As private businesses, they're allowed to not serve you for a variety of reasons, so yes that is one of them. That being said, Im not aware of any currently that are requiring vax cards

Right, people are refused wedding cakes for being gay in this country (not vermont as far as I know) why the hell should "unvaccinated" be a special group. Being whiney and loud doesnt get you special privilege

Me and my girlfriend are planning to go to Vermont in January. Where I would like to propose to her. But the Bed and breakfast asked us to provide proof of vaccine. She is vaccinated. But I am not. So i hope they serious don't want it. Otherwise we might have to travel somewhere else.

It takes two seconds to go to your local Walmart and get a vaccination. Stop being lazy.

You should get vaccinated before you travel. Stay out of my state if you aren’t vaccinated

I’ll bite. Why didn’t you get vaccinated?

Hate to tell you but they probably do seriously want it and the only way around that is to get vaccinated.

whooobaby t1_iyj793p wrote

Yes they’re definitely allowed to do that

Uh didn’t you just answer your own question? If they can ask for it, they can refuse your business based off of it. I think the only thing they can’t refuse your business over is protected status (race, gender identity, sexual orientation, etc)

They haven't refuse. They just asked before we go. So I don't know for sure. I just checking before I give them an answer. To see if Vermont still had restriction that I didn't know about. But yes I did answer my own question.

Or maybe call the actual airbnb? They are literally the only people who can tell you if they are going to turn you away or not.

They can certainly ask, but I don’t think many are anymore.

They can, but only time I've been asked in the last 6 months was at a coffee shop in Burlington when I wanted to sit down in the dining room.

I think it falls under the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" rule. Not a law BUT private businesses can refuse service for a variety of reasons.

First, I would like to say. Thanks for the help. Second I will not bs getting vaccinated. For a virus that kills a small percentage than the flu. I would be more at risk to get a heart problem if I did get vaccinated. Bc data shows that a male in his early 20's or younger had problems with vaccine. Third both times I had covid it was gone with 5-7 days and got easy the second time I got it. Fourth I isolated and got no else sick. Fifth I won't get a vaccine that we have no data behind prior. I do get the flu shots. Finally it takes 100 for a virus to mutate and it mutated in 18 because it was man made and created a vaccine with no testing in a year and half. I a stats major. We have no data that will show what it will do to a human since you got the vaccine. Thanks for reading and your help

Hey man just so you know those heart problems you mention from the vaccine are far less than the heart problems from catching the actual virus. So the only thing slightly safer than getting the vaccine is not getting the vaccine AND also not catching COVID. Since you caught covid anyway there is literally no danger from the vaccine.

You're a fucking idiot. I hope they turn you away.

You might have been a stats major but your understanding of stats is clearly flawed, and your ability to find scientific data is nonexistent.
