The positive is this opens a gate up for someone else, maybe southwest will take a look

Don't love it. This was the only way to get to Denver direct. Maybe United will start again with this opening but I kind of doubt it.

Southwest declined service at Burlington because the city lacked a hotel right by the airport and because Southwest wanted their own terminal which isn’t possible. This was a few years ago when the previous airport head was planning to build a hotel on site or adjacent and that came to nothing.

That's really good to know. We almost bought the annual pass last week and I would be pissed if we had bought in.

And BDL/Hartford.

Which seems to be often not thought about by many, but has way better service than Manchester or Albany and is as close or closer than Boston....and with fewer traffic issues + cheap parking options.

Obviously, still not very close if you're actually up by Burlington.

Also often has pretty good Denver rates with 3 carriers running it direct out of there. (United, Frontier, Southwest).

Could be, from what I heard Southwest wasn’t impressed by the local amenities. The major sticking point was probably them not having their own terminal.

BDL is awesome. You can drive there in your sleep, it’s very small and efficient, $7 parking, dispensaries galore and Trader Joe’s on the way back.

And chik fil a haha.

Personally I’d rather fly out of btv but just flee out of Hartford for the first time. Direct to Orlando Florida for like $2000 cheaper than 1 stop from Btv. It was all very easy.
