I'll be moving before April, most likely to montpellier or rutland areas. Any recommendations people have? What've your experience been if ya care to elaborate? Are their any good resources out their on who what where and whether or not they're on the up and up?

I’ve been volunteering with Vermont adaptive for several years now. It’s so much fun and the staff are all wonderful people- I’d highly recommend it! They have year round programming and their southern office is at Pico near Rutland.

What kind of volunteering are you looking to do. Meaning what populations are you looking to engage when your volunteer?

I do about 3 or 4 hours of volunteer work a week and depending on what you are looking for there are tons of places always looking for help.

Meals On Wheels operations around the state are usually looking for help. The local transit companies use volunteers sometimes to bring people to appointments.

Uhm I've always kinda drifted like in the last two years, I've helped raise money for war orphans, given/made care packets for the homeless, phonebanked and canvassed for local politicians, gotten grocery orders/chores for older folks cause of covid. Raised money for the gay youth. I'm probably just gonna try most places for a few weeks to see what clicks.

Give the churches a shot for soup kitchen stuff. The goodwill is always looking. You can check out Washington county mental health as they may have some opportunities as well. The restore in barre is a good resource as well. Good luck and thank you for giving back.
