And the shelter we adopted ours from made it clear they want her leashed and well trained, for her own safety and comfort

Yup. Ours had a (kinda crazy) contract that we had to sign. Home inspection including making sure we had an adequate fence around our entire yard. It’s a bit over the top but I understand the why behind it and am not against it.

Honestly we live somewhere where a fence isn’t really feasible and I plan to always have him on leash/train him to be ok off leash on my own property….I had them come to my folks house to pass the inspection lol.
