Long story short I was advised they only sell local (I'm in North Carolina). Had my friend from Florida and they would sell him the car. If you want the long story see below. Note; the calls are recorded they can verify the legitimacy if they chose too.

I'm sure they also have copy of them email they sent me Stock Number 7724

Sharing my experience as it really wrecked my day. I was called by one of the salesmen for an internet inquiry about an Escalade ESV I told them yes that's what I'm looking for what's the out the door price. I was advised I'd get a call back. I went on and was looking elsewhere for the vehicle as I was shopping around. I never received a call back but I got an email and I was like oh yeah these guys got the car. I called back and got someone believe his name is Duane. Duane advised me they got someone that's looking at it just waiting for them to pull the trigger. I advised Duane why wait for someone to pull the trigger when I can send the money for the vehicle now. Duane advise no they sell local only. I said well the local person hasn't put a deposit down why wait on him. I can send the money now. I can be there tmrw to pick it up. He said no he doesn't see that happening. He then advised he has the right to sell to whoever he wants to. I was like it doesn't make sense I'm telling you have the cash and I can make the deposit and buy the car. He said he just not selling me the car. On top of that he said I'd been calling over and over again. I only called the location once and they reached out to me twice trying to sell the car until they listened to my voice and noticed I was black. It's not new you can guess someone's race through the sound of their voice and vernacular. Anyway. I was suspicious so I had another friend call from Florida (white friend). Note that this guy is much further away than me. I'm in North Carolina. The guy told my friend he'd look into the car and give him a call back. He gave my friend a call back within 30 minutes to sell him the Car. My friend advised him to eat a bag of D***s and that's the story. We've since spent our money elsewhere and I'm sharing my experience as this racism probably pervades through this dealership. If you are black make sure you go with your own financing. These people are terrible. I emailed the owner and the owner did not respond.

So they recorded the calls, but you didn't? If you have the files, post the files.

This seems a bit off.

Is North Carolina out of stock? Any local dealership should be able to order whatever you want. It’s weird that you’d even try to buy a vehicle this way. Duane likely suspected a scam.

It's perfectly normal to call around in cars. I called every dealer in 4 states to get the car, trim, and color I wanted at the best price. Especially with how expensive cars are it was a difference of 10k dollars.

So you're acting sketchy as hell but sure, this must be a race thing because you "sound black"

Worst dealer to deal with. Particularly service. I would avoid at all costs.

Yeah because your situation and approach seems so scammy. Who orders from states away, thinking it doesn’t give off scam vibes? I doubt this had to do with race, as we have non-white people here btw, contrary to many stereotypes

racism is disgusting. Please contact Seven Days and relay your story there as well.

I’m so sorry.

After George Floyd was murdered, there was a lot of talk about it’s not enough to not be racist and that because blacks have suffered as George Floyd did, it’s time for us to make an effort to be anti racist. Being anti racist includes listening to minorities descriptions of discrimination, treating their perceptions as valid, being respectful, and taking their side in a supportive way.

For the users in this sub, you can either side against this user primarily because he’s from out-of-state, or try the anti racist approach (listen, be respectful, and be supportive).
