Unfortunately a lot of companies in Vermont are out of touch and pay way less than that. Because of our "low cost of living" its not low.

I would reccomend haggling pretty hard with employers on salary. And walk away from anyone that tries to justify low pay because of our cost of living.

Keep in mind workers are very much in demand in VT right now. And companies will pay higher if you give them a hard time.

Might take you a few years to get back to that, depending on what your experience and skill set is. Most skilled trade work around here starts around 20-25/hr as far as I’ve seen.

Something I can afford cheapest rent and food. Pay for car insurance and have a phone to communicate and maintain contact with my coworkers.
