Travelling to St. Albans next week last minute for work and this’ll be the first time i’ve been in the mountains on the East Coast. Found that there’s a ski resort in Vermont (would never have guessed!) and since Stowe isn’t too far away from St. Albans i figured i might be able to sneak over there on Friday and see how the skiing is like over there. Only concern i had was how busy it was on Fridays? I’m used to resorts in CO being absolutely crazy fri-sun so just wonder how busy Stowe is?

Stowe? I’ll never understand people’s fascination with Stowe even when they see all the shenanigans with it. Just go to Jay Peak. It’ll save you an hour in parking, $70 in lift ticket fees, probably better snow, and the only cost is having to deal with Canadians. Heck you can even get a pass for the water park and end your day with a couple beers and a hot tub still cheaper than a Stowe lift ticket.

Username checks out. You’re surprised there’s A Ski Resort in Vermont? There’s a bunch here. And you’re too dense to figure out there are several closer ski areas than Stowe to St. Albans?

Sorry about your brain injury. Maybe a coworker can help you do a quick Google search so you are prepared for your trip.

I’d go to Smuggs instead pretty solid also if you aren’t used to the edgework of these mountains you can ease in and assuming you’re experienced you can find your lines higher up. You’ll have to drive an hour extra for Stowe.

St. Albans to Stowe takes over an hour and a half in the winter, the notch road is closed so you must take the interstate. I recommend smugglers notch or Jay peak, both are solid resorts.

You ski in Colorado and had no idea there were resorts in VT? People go back and forth all the time and talk about the other areas while one or the other

Ya like he's a regular skier in the US doesn't have a basic idea of where the other parts of the country with ski resorts are? If he was surprised that like West Virginia has some it would kind of make sense, but Vermont is the heart of east coast ski country

It’s gonna be pretty crazy, I work in Stowe and with the recent snow it’s been fairly busy.

Lmao this is hilarious I’m from Colorado too but never was I astonished that Vermont has ski resorts. Go ski Jay. It’s different than what we have out West but awesome. I’ve had some of my favorite days skiing being away from it all up at Jay

It will take longer than that just to get to the parking lot. Avoid Stowe like the plague. From Saint Albans, the closest big mountain is Smugglers Notch, which is 45 minutes away.

If today is any indication it will be very busy. If you’re coming buy a pass ahead of time to secure a spot.

I wouldn't bother with Stowe. I would go to Bolton. Or Jay. Or Smuggs. Stowe is so.... Overrated

You should check out Hard'Ack in St. Albans if it's open to kill an hour or 2. Teeny little rope tow area, but oh so much fun.
