I think you should eat some beans on the bus and find out. This feels like low hanging fruit (ha ha) for try it in the real world and see if it's true or not.

I think they are fine as long as eating on the train / bus isn't against the rules. As someone who used to commute via train I can you hungry people a few seats away will secretly hate you out of hangry jealousy. FYI! 🙂
