If I ship maple syrup or beer I use the USPS large flat rate shipping boxes ($22 per I believe). you walk in pick them up for free, pack at home and pay when you are ready to ship. Anything liquid I would suggest putting in a ziplock at the very least, just in case something leaks and fill all the dead space with bubble wrap and news paper.

USPS now wants absorbent material inside the Ziploc — I believe it’s if the container is more than 4oz but I might have the volume wrong. I’ve always used zip bags when sending syrup, but this last time they had me repack to add paper towels in the bag (not just in the box) before they’d accept it.

I would tape the caps as well. I have had the altitude change from being flown cause the ones there were overfilled to “pop” and fill the bag they were in.
