Does anyone happen to know what's going on with this closed KFC in Essex Jct? I see lights on but it's not open most of the time. I'm just curious as if it ever will reopen or not. Thanks.

Guess they picked up the Ray’s business model.

Staffing more than likely, they’ve been like that for quite some time.

I heard a rumor that it was going to become a KFC Taco Bell combo, but that may just be a fever dream

KFC is just for entertainment, not for actual consumption.

They had staffing issues for a long time. I heard several times they only had 1 employee doing everything.

This is almost a cliche r/vermont post —because it’s so Vermont.

I also heard it was going to be a taco bell. But that may just be group think. Fingers crossed though.

other businesses don't have nearly the same problems that KFC/Taco Bell do, it's universal in New England I've noticed, I've tried to get stuff at 3 different Taco Bells in VT and in NH and they all are horrible. Yet at the same time I can goto another business like Moe's or Wendys or Burger King and get in and out in 10 minutes or less with food no problem, even during busy times.

There's something wrong with the regional Yum! Brands management here that's especially worse when it comes to organizing their stores and workforce.

Keene, nh was that way for most of the pandemic and even still it's a 45 minute wait in drive thru. Lobby was completely closed up until maybe 2 months ago. Staffing was a problem because you needed x amount of employees making KFC orders and x amount making taco bell orders while you need cashiers for drive thru and lobby. Even with 4 people our KFC was super slow and I felt bad for the employees busting their asses because I know they weren't making a decent wage.

They tore down the orig one in Rutland and recently finished rebuilding it. It's been open a week now or so.
