Is anyone aware of a list or a database, complete or otherwise, of stone houses here in Vermont? I met a person on a flight home to BTV who was retired and was trying to visit every stone house in Vermont. I’d like to do the same. Thanks

So, despite being born here, I've unfortunately never spent any time in one. Is it still feasible to have one built, and are they energy efficient or prone to mold here? I've always loved them.

Used to be married into the family that used to own a lovely Stone House on Greeley Road in Springfield Vermont. Was told the stone came from just. down the road

Suggestion: both of you join The 251 Club. This late spring-summer-fall, drive together to every one of the towns in VT and chronicle the stone houses you find. You’ll have a fabulous time!

Vermont’s not a museum you can traipse through, people lives in them and deserve privacy. Visiting public stone buildings is a different story, but just stop it otherwise.

Old Stone Museum Brownington is pretty awesome. I grew up near Proctor and the Vermont Mable Company now owned by OMYA. Proctor has impressive marble buildings and a neat bridge This is Old Stone Museum. Visit the Amish bakeries if you go.

This is like asking for a list of all the wood siding houses in VT so they can visit.
What are they expecting to do? These houses are mostly private properties.
Exactly, like if you’re interested in stone house architecture go to a museum or something. Vermonters also are becoming more militant towards leaf peeper types because they’re sick and tired of being disregarded and disrespectful by the people wanting nothing but pictures of their homes and yards.
