You'll find no one checks your Black LGBT bonafides when visiting here.

Came here to say this. Unless their questions are directly related to that demographic, it shouldn’t matter. And nobody really cares anyway unless you are in the boonies.

From the boonies. We don't give a fuck. Just be cool 😎

Also from the boonies, we don’t give a shit up here either! Might look at you a couple extra times because it’ll be clear you’re not from here, but we do the same to straight white people too.

Nobody cares what ya are. If anything it’ll put people off if you tell us without asking. Have a good weekend! Check out seven days for music and events going on. Dress warm!

And to expand on how us people are, we aren’t super friendly but if you’re in trouble we’ll go out of our way to help you out. We drink a little too much and argue about which county makes the best syrup (it’s orange country fyi, best soil) we don’t like seeing cars with plates that aren’t green or from Maine (but we’ll still help you out if you get stuck) we’ll tell you not to use GPS if you ask for directions and give you a long winded explanation on how to get somewhere involving landmarks that haven’t been there for 20 years. Idk. We are just people, although Burlington isn’t really a good example of Vermont people, this time of year the majority of the people you’ll run into downtown Burlington are college students from out of state.

Idk, how you identify doesn’t have anything to do with your intentions. Literally nobody cares. That’s how we are. But Burlington can be fun if you’re young, it’s been 15 years since I’ve spent much time there, and the only gay type event I ever went to was a drag queen new years thing that was a fucking blast. Idk. I doubt you’ll find much catering towards black or queer people specifically, but there’s not really anything catering towards any group in particular at all. Have a good weekend!

I feel like I post this every day. There are about 6-7000 people of color spread out in the whole state. Most of whom are refugees and will not share your experience of being black in America or your culture. Many poc come here and find this frustrating for some reason, which has always baffled me but I’m dumb so who knows. That’s all to say there aren’t many spaces carved out exclusively as a poc or queer space. And as a queer myself I find the VT queer seen to be hyper cringe at least in Burlington. Remember the average age in Burlington is 26.

You can extrapolate from there. Idk, if you go to Finland expect to see mostly Fins doing Finnish things . If you come to Vermont expect to see mostly waspy white bois doing waspy white boi things (source: a waspy white boi)

Pop on in to Quarterstaff games on Church Street and support a great little local game store.
