Snow bad? You like fresh clean drinking water? A shower when you need it? New England has undergone a water drought (look at what!s happening out West for an idea of where we could be if this continues as it is through southern New England and along the Atlantic corridor. If you commute, please invest in snow tires and slow down driving everywhere. If you can, stay off the roads when it’s snowing. You just asked a question. If you want maple, let’s cool our winters down (maples prefer cold winters). Keep asking the right questions; they’re open doors to learning

Yo, this is Vermont, why the hell are we stirring shit about snow? Lol.

VSP just closed 279 and part of Rt 7 because of cars off the road.

Cars off the road? In Vermont? For 5-6 measly inches of snow? I CALL FLATLANDERS!

A lotta newbies here w/o snow tires—can’t afford ‘em , don’t believe in ‘em, or “think” they don’t need ‘em. I’m happy bc my well will have water and I’ll get sm gd exercise shoveling.

Well, some people need the studded snows, and some don't. It's icing, I don't fucking go out. Part of not having studded snows is knowing when not to go out.

I've driven in this state for almost 40 years, without. Cuz I'm either just that bad ass or that stupid.

But: I'm damned sure my wife has studded snows, because I want her to be as safe as possible.

Any tire, even w studs, is up against a big problem on ice. I’ve had both studded & non-, and the only way to drive on ice is extremely slowly…or better yet, don’t drive. Your first paragraph is totally right. Shoveling was great tonight. A careful hour and we were clear. Nice.

Hey, at least the schools remembered that they can delay the start of school instead of outright cancelling it.

I'm old enough to remember having to ask mom if it was a 1-hour delay or a 2-hour delay. Does anyone else remember 1-hour delays?

Finally! And a normal outlook thru Feb 6. Our drought is halted for awhile. Full wells & ponds! And it sure is purty, ain’t it!

I got a foot in my driveway that the nice boys from the neighborhood cleared YESTERDAY. I want my goddamn money back boys.

(I don’t really. They did clear the snow that was there yesterday.)
