I am moving to Montpelier soon from Burlington and was wondering peoples experience with Fidium there? I see CVFiber is kicking off now, but in the mean time i'd like to have a fiber equivalent to Burlington Telecom. Anyone have any bad experiences?

I have Fidium in Montpelier for close to a year now. I am happy, we had internet directly after the power was restored after the last big storm. I get alerts periodically that my connection has been lost, mostly at 2-4am. I haven’t asked why yet because I don’t notice it and it isn’t an issue for me. The install from the pole isn’t great, wire just hanging across not supported and the cable wasn’t fastened so it got pinched in my door when it fell.

Not sure Fidium is in Montpelier, but I know Consolidated Communications offers fiber. I only know a couple of people using it and it seems fine. Comcast offers similar speeds over cable too I think.

Fidium = Consolidated in the same way that XFINITY = Comcast. It's just a branding thing.

Ah good to know. I saw this https://www.fidiumfiber.com/fiber-internet-Montpelier-vt, maybe just a marketing thing though.

I’m close to Bennington on the southern end of the state so I can’t comment on Fidium in your area, but I have had Fidium for close to 4mo and I love them.

Been through 2 storms that knocked out power. As the power returned I had internet.

I’m on the lowest tear plan at $35 and I got 2 Wi-Fi routers with it. I use streaming services for tv and have a ton of smart plugs and cameras and I haven’t noticed anything buffering or working slow.

We get flyers for fidium in the mail in Montpelier. I would hope they have service here though it’d be hysterical if they’re wasting mailers on a non serviced area.

It's advertised on the front porch forum for Montpelier as well. I have Comcast, so I can't speak to the Fidium experience in Montpelier.
