Amazing show, though I'll admit the last season was hit or miss. Some great episodes but also some 'meh' ones. Looking forward to next season.

People are going to disagree with you, but yes I think it lost a little momentum. Season 2 is an 9/10 or 10/10 it's very very funny
thtanner t1_j73hwng wrote
It's still really funny and there is always a moment to enjoy in an episode, don't get me wrong there. Just seems to be missing something. Maybe it's the fact that there seems to be no .. risk of the outside world in these later seasons. Like normal humans are an merely inconvenience now, but early seasons they seemed to go out of their way to mask their movements/etc and avoid unnecessary contact. I'm probably overthinking things too lol.

Yeah not sure what it is exactly... I fully expect it to keep getting better and better anyway

I thought getting rid of Colin Robinson for a short-time was a miss play. Colin Robinson didn't get the most laughs from me but definitely the biggest.
thtanner t1_j73n7nz wrote
Yea Baby Colin was kind of a miss but I know some people loved it.

Agreed, definitely the worst part of the season. But I think it was the result of them basically keeping an open ended script with every avenue to get rid of literally any of the cast members but they all stayed. So we got some weird loose ends from S2 that had to be tied up very quickly.

I'm speaking almost entirely out of my ass, but I have a feeling it's because Jemaine Clement stepped back after season 2. I LOVED the first 2 seasons but also noticed a decline in the writing in season 3 and especially 4. Jemaine has no writing credits after season 2.
It seems like a somewhat common thing in the industry because I noticed a similar thing with Rick and Morty. As Dan Harmon pulled back the writing for that show took a nosedive.

It's absolutely irritating what they did to Marwa and Guillermo.

I walked away with the same thought....the writing was just not as good.

17 Emmy nominations is underrated apparently

It's a fair critique - I don't really keep up with things. I just assumed it wasn't popularly accepted, but it appears I was wrong. It's accurately rated!

I had no idea it had Emmy nominations lol. I love this show but don’t know a ton of people that watch it
iagounchained t1_j75rdtp wrote
For anyone interested, when she says something foreign in an exasperated tone that sounds like: 'Panagia mou. She's speaking Greek. The phrase means the Virgin Mary, and is usually used as someone saying 'for fuck shakes'.
And this makes it even funnier, invoking the Virgin Mary from someone that is a vampire.

If you've watched all of this, I strongly recommend Stath Lets Flats (with Jamie and Natasia Demetriou) next!
