Most people are missing the point - it's not the food, the person or the restaurant, it's the exclusivity that they are paying for.

Whether that is stupid or not is up to the observer but they get what they want, away from the 'plebs', at a price they can afford to pay.

Would I go? Never in a million years but it's their cash, their choice.

Because people like to feel like they are in the IN crowd and being in the exclusive club. That's pretty much like paying crazy money for a handbag that they only make a certain quantity per year and you have to be invited, blah blah. People want to feel special that way.

Imagine people paying extra JUST for him to come by to put salt on your food. I'll bet you these idiots are willing to pay even more if he put salt with an unwashed hand after he has gone to the bathroom. The exotic taste from that is priceless.
