FRC.PI is a better buy that FRC if you want to mitigate some of the risk of a distressed sale. Common shares may be made worthless if FRC is bought out, preferred shares have a priority claim on company equity.

Debt holders get paid first. Preferred SH get paid next. Common SH get paid last.
