Anybody invested in this? I feel like it’s been kinda down the last year and could maybe start going up. I don’t know shit about stocks, but young people like to not eat meat for some reason and they are the worlds future spenders. I hate vegans and think soy based proteins are a bad dietary choice. I think this stock has the potential to be sent to the moon.

I just heard a story on NPR discussing how the plant based meat trend is dying out now. Apparently a lot of nutritionists have analyzed the products and they are more unhealthy than the real thing because the plant based meats are way over processed with many additives in it. Personally, I would stay away from it.

This is not financial advise. Just a guy relaying some info from an NPR story.

I’m glad people gave their honest opinions versus just telling me to dump all my assets and buy more.

Pretty extensive analysis here. I would buy in, but it's missing rocket emojis.

No rockets, no deal.

I suppose I should warn you of the macroeconomic headwinds facing the automotive market...slowing car sales, chip shortages, etc. but seems you've made your play already. There are certainly worse companies than HMC to park your money, and Beyond is one of them.

Godspeed, fellow regard.

I actually like the product but I don't like the stock at all. Food is a very bad business.

I’ll take the miracle $5 I’ve made off them this week and put it into something else tomorrow. Or am I supposed to wait until I’m down half what I put in?

Ya turns out that sickly vegans don't actually have any money.

Nope. Their business performance is poor, so there’s no reason to expect meaningful growth, especially since the product is targeted towards health-conscious consumers, but has more sodium and saturated fats than meat. Plus it doesn’t have the nutrients one would get from meat (with the exception of high calcium).

You keep beating that meat beyond belief and it will just turn red. Why do all that when it is already red?

Plant based meats are dead.

VC's are now looking at lab grown, specifically in countries that permit it (not the US)

Do you want to eat meat or a clean non-processed plant based diet?

Kind of a trick question. Because the answer doesn't matter as Beyond Meat is neither of those things.

It's literal trash you shove down your throat, tastes like shit and to top it off, it's expensive as hell, meaning nobody who isn't virtue signaling and has too much money while also having no brain is going to touch this crap more than once. Better off buying puts and watch it go to Zero.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not vegan at all and I think it tastes great. Prices are also fine. Stock is really bad so I would agree on the puts.

On a more serious note; they lost almost 70 million dollars last quarter. They had -85% net profit margin in the same quarter. They have a negative PE ratio.

I’m one of the few people who enjoys beyond meat products, even though I’m not a vegan or vegetarian. But yeah I wouldn’t touch this stock with a 10 foot pole.

Second: They have never made a profit

Depending on what you have paid for it, I would exit. If you paid $100+, it is too late, you may as well hold it to zero. If you recently bought it, I would sell immediately, before it goes down further.

My simple rule of investing: a corp needs to be either growing, or be profitable. If it is neither, it is dead.
