I'm confident that you made a good decision. They seem to have a satisfactory amount of cash on hand to help. Granted, I have only 10% of your capital invested but it's a Yolo for me as well.

Whats your thesis OP?

I don’t have the skills to write a DD. Basically, it’s now trading at less than 2X earnings. If they can recover from the bank runs and come out solvent on the other side, I truly believe that this stock will recover over the next 6 months-2 years. There’s a possibility of a 10x return on the outside and a 3-4X return doesn’t seem crazy either.

Also, we really want to build an expansion on our house. If this 5Xs that gets us halfway there in our budget

So it is an investment strategy for next 6 months-2years? I thought that you might have some info that this might go up tomorrow or next week

Let’s say I had my money in FRC. I pull out and put it into Wells Fargo or Chase where it’s safer. Why would I withdraw and put it back into FRC?

That was my point in the comment. Earnings will not be the same where it was before because everyone took their cash out. Plus with higher rates, they cannot maintain their previous earnings. How will it recover when most of the people pulled their money out into bigger banks. There’s no incentive for them to return. Example, let’s say you withdrew $5 million out of FRC. Why would you put $1.00 back into FRC?

I would've say Wells Fargo any safer. Long history of screwing over their clients.

SuperAppleLover t1_jebvnxb wrote

Sure but daddy government won’t ever let Wells Fargo die. Do not have to worry about a bank run.

Man I hate politicians and them owning stocks. Politicians should not be able to have stocks with capped pay of $100,000 a year and an age limit.

Getting advice here on stocks is almost like getting advice on YouTube to buy Scottish land to become a Laird, also too many English teachers who criticize spelling and grammar!

Almost like the housing bubble claims that was about to hit in 2019, oops maybe in 2020, oops maybe in 2021. Oops they meant in 2022, Oops just wait the housing bubble will come in 2023.

It must be true people on this sub and YouTubers who are in theirs late 20’s and 30’s said so.

It’s so funny I’m not sure anyone of them even remember 2008 outside of the breast milk still fresh on their lips.

Sold my entire portion yesterday….. got 20% since the low. Would be very careful here OP.

The treasuries that they have to sell to stabilize their balance sheet to either attract a buyer or to position themselves to remain independent have lost a significant amount bc as rates rise bond prices fall. And then secondly because almost 40% of assets on their balance sheets are Commercial Real Estate mortgages. Which again have been hurt by the rising rates which puts pressure on real estate prices but also due to the fact that a huge amount of those mortgages were signed before WFH became wide spread. I think demand for commercial office space has been crushed over the last 3 years but bc mortgages aren’t 30 day bonds we haven’t seen that demand reflected in prices yet
