Viagra went generic a few years ago so they probably aren't making as much money with it anymore.

Worked in the industry for a little bit, that doesn’t mean anything. When a brand name loses its patent, they’ll reorganize the molecule so it has the same intended affect but with possible different side effects and apply for a new patent. If that can’t be done, Pfizer owns the generic manufacturer greenstone. Greenstone will just charge more than the others and raise the price of the brand name. Folks know that if they get greenstone it’s technically the brand name

Great insight into the industry, thank you.

Yea, what a shitty game. Law says generics must be cheaper than the brand name… jack up the brand name and produce the “generic” at the old price of the brand name.
Obviously this only works when you own both the brand name and generic. There’s one other big one that also owns a generic manufacture but the name escapes me.
And don’t get me started with CVS. They’re the insurance company, the drug manufacturer, and the pharmacy. Everything stays in house and is somehow not a monopoly
