I’ve been reading carvana is near bankruptcy and they are not allowed to sell cars in Illinois and Michigan because of their business practices. No titles when they sell vehicles. My only concern is the short squeeze and the fact that bill gates has invested in carvana? Is there any reason not to yolo this with put options ? Thoughts ?

Going under... they are under water to the tune of $Bs in used car inventory they can't off load (in the industry for 27 years) - the Garcias have a bullseye on them from financial regulators... just a matter of time as used car prices reset to previous levels

Hmmm so all those cars gonna drop on the market all at once?

That's up to whomever is in charge of the liquidation, safe to assume they would not dump them all to prop up prices as long as needed to work through the labyrinth that must exist in the books over there

>There is always risk when investing, and carvana may indeed be near bankruptcy. However, I believe that the potential upside of a short squeeze outweighs the risks involved. Bill Gates' investment also gives me confidence in this company.

the amount of money Bill Gates has invested is not meaningful to him, also it is not Bill himself, it is his family office team, is it Savoy?

I bought some long puts at $20 because I figured this company is doomed based on their debt loads and lack of earnings. I feel this is still the case, but how long will it take for the company to go low enough for you to make a decent return? How long will it take for the market to realize this company is a sinking ship and drop below even $14 a share? Just because you're right doesn't mean you'll make a lot of money.

I feel it should not be long. Based on my observation, more dealers now will accept MRCP price for new cars, no more adding options. For me, that means the used car market is cooling down.

No, Yellow Corporation (YELL), before they report potential blowout Q3 earnings on Wed. North America’s 5th largest transportation company is now hitting a stride and in the later stages of a legit operational/corporate turnaround. The company became profitable again during the Summer, but is Extremely undervalued to peers.
