I don’t have any suggestions, but just want to commend you on your initiative and for posting here. Hopefully your post will inspire others to also seek ways to help their community. It’s certainly inspiring to me.

Would this be an ongoing availability or just this weekend? Cause there's plenty of non profits that are looking for volunteers but they generally want consistent, long term ones, not just one time drop ins.

Congressional Cemetery does drop in grave clean up throughout the summer but I don't think they've started that quite yet this year.

City Wildlife is always looking for folks, but they generally want long term volunteers. If you've ever wanted to bottle feed a baby squirrel, this is the place lol.

DC Family & Youth Initiative works to support youth in and transitioning from foster care. They have more time intensive opportunities like mentoring but you can always sign up to be a “committed community member” and attend monthly events. The teens are amazing and so are all the folks that volunteer. https://www.dcfyi.org/volunteer-opportunities-0
