I rode over to grab something at Target, and after what couldn’t have been more than 15 minutes in the 3-4 PM hour, it was ripped apart from its holster with the lock still attached to the rack. I’m in the process of filing a police report, but if anyone sees a light grey Segway Ninebot G30LP with a broken latch on the handlebar, let me know.

All of my scooters stay with me from the time I walk out the door with it until I return home . I never EVER EVER leave any of them unattended locked anywhere they are too great of a target for thieves no matter how good the lock is there is always a weak spot that a thief can easily exploit and in a minute or so with todays rechargeable power tools Be Gone with your scooter if you want to keep it you never lock it up . Check on Marketplace/Craigslsit/Offer. But other then that your scooter is most likely gone. MPD will take a report and toss it in the trash. Very stupid to lock a $600 scooter outside a sketchy metro station

It's very common knowledge for scooter owners. Friend of mine had his Dultron stolen the same way, he even used a krypto lock Come check our r/electricscooters feel free to read some literature on there.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your scooter. When you get a replacement you may want to speak with your insurance agent to beef up comprehensive coverage on your policy (or consider getting coverage if you don't already have it).

I haven't owned my scooter for more than a year. There were lots of people on the corner, I knew I wasn't going to be long, I parked it outside of a bank, and the thief broke the scooter itself to steal it. I incorrectly assumed that I could go for ten/fifteen minutes in the middle of the day in the middle of a city with it locked.

I wouldn’t call you stupid, just unlucky. I’ve had my scooter for almost five years and have locked it up all over town—often for hours—without any problem. The only sketch i’ve encountered was once i had it locked up outside a fast food joint and someone came in and asked who owned the scooter locked outside? I said it was mine, at which point he said he had an “extra” one just like mine, and would sell it to me cheap. I passed, but mine was still there later…
