Any Vietnamese that could go into the Vietnam Embassy and ask them a question for me on Monday?

Hi all, I currently have been trying to make an appointment with the Vietnam Embassy for a new passport, but have not been able to talk to anyone on the phone. I currently live 4 hours away so I can definitely drive there but am worried they’ll turn me away without an appointment. Could anyone that is Vietnamese or speak Vietnamese go in there next week and ask them some questions for me? If I can get an in person appointment I’ll be sure to treat you to dinner or lunch while I’m there :)

Consulate services including passports are done on a walk in basis. You can also apply by mail.

Hi, thanks for the reply! A few of my friends heard that there’s no walk in service at any embassy. Is walk in service available specific to the Vietnam Embassy?

Most embassies do walk in services - Vietnam is not at all unusual in this regard. All you do is show up in person during the consulate’s hours with sufficient time to be seen before they close. Appointment only is actually actually pretty unusual.

You can also hire a courier/passport service to submit it in person if you don’t want to go in person or mail it FYI.

As I recall, you can just walk in. There's a public reception desk. Are you talking about their facility over by DuPont Circle?

Hi, thanks for the reply! I’m not familiar with the facility by the dupoint cafe since I have never been there. I was just hoping I could somehow make an appointment with them for a new passport. I have been trying to reach them over phone with no luck. I currently live 4 hours away so I am unable to check in person if I can schedule an appointment.

Have you tried emailing them? I've had a lot of luck with that for a different embassy
