HELP! Washington capitals tickets - any tips on finding tickets? Are there ticket scalpers outside of the stadium?

We’re looking to go to today’s game at last minute. There’s 4 of us. The ticket prices on TicketMaster and other online ticket systems still seem extremely high. We tried going with Craigslist, but both conversations became sketchy and they couldn’t prove they had tickets. Are there any other last minute outlets we can try? Are there ticket scalpers around the stadium or is it too big of a risk? We have two young children so we don’t want to show up to end up without a seat.

The ticket prices on Ticketmaster are normal prices for a sporting event in DC. That’s the going rate. I would just buy the tickets from a reputable source.

Tonights game has had higher prices than average for a while (season ticket holder here). I would assume because they are having special ceremonies for Black History Month and are wearing special warmup jerseys. Also caps tickets have always been more expensive than other dc teams even though they are on a losing streak. Ticketmaster is the approved selling platform for caps season ticket holder so a lot less risk in buying in secondary market.

Walk up to the ticket window. nm May be better off looking for two pairs; each takes one kid.

Buy anything with a capital one credit or atm card and get a discount. See r/caps.
