You are way more likely to die in a rural area than an urban one. Urban areas do have a slightly higher risk of death through violent crime, but the reduction in traffic fatalities makes up for that considerably. Also, if you ever do get shot or stabbed, you're really close to 3 level 1 trauma centers and one level 2 trauma center. That will greatly increase your risk of survival. Cities are much better places to get stabbed than rural areas.
