It was stolen on H st and 12th NE in front of the Popeye’s. I was in the middle of doing uberEATs pickups, and yes I know it was all my fault. But just if anyone sees it driving around or anything, it’s all beat up and dented and has Connecticut plates with a license plate of BB24278.

No. The AirTag is connected to your phone. I don’t get alerted on my phone every time I am around someone else’s airtag
That's because other people's airtag isn't following you for too long. But I get notified all the time if I'm with a friend, and their airtag is in my car.
Never had that happen with my wife’s or friends AirTags. Strange.

It only goes off if a another AirTag is close to your device for a certain number of hours or while driving or something

i literally took a glimpse as i was grabbing the food for the delivery and it was there then once i got the food and went back it was gone

Put an apple air tag in your car, makes finding it much easier
im bummed bc my macbook was in it but it cant be traced offline if its idle on Find My! Makes no sense to me
