I had cricket tacos at Oyamel. They were tasty, but kind of salty and dry. Was hoping the insides would have more creamy goodness.
Northwest Chinese Food (yes, that's what it's called) for some very-different-than-you've-ever-had Chinese food in College Park
Thai X-ing. You pay a fixed price & they bring out dishes made from the day’s best looking ingredients. You can also specify any dietary restrictions.
Chiko, O-Ku, Zaytinya. Maybe tell us more about the type of food you’re looking for?
Ethiopian was always my go to. Used to go to the Eritrean cultural center at 6th and L NW but that was redeveloped. Big fan of Zenebech for Ethiopian.
Panda Gourmet in DC. Some of the best Szechuan food ever in a motel lobby.
Annandale for Korean and bingsoo dessert. Eden center for Vietnamese.
As other users have notes, some sense of what you are looking for would be helpful.
This is my list, all I would add is Supra (Georgian)
Try mastro dc, top notch!
We just went to Cranes for my husband’s birthday—it was an incredible treat with some flavor combos I’d never had before. I loved the fact that everything felt new and fresh but nothing was so outside my comfort zone that I couldn’t enjoy it.
So the food is just generic level Chinese, but I love taking out of town people to Wok and Roll because it was the boarding house used by the Lincoln assassination conspirators. https://ghostsofdc.org/2015/03/02/mary-surratt-house-wok-roll-dc/
Oh my list to try actually
